![]() Then when I do I find a bunch of new bells and whistles that I never use and an unstable platform where I spend several days trying to restore my settings. Upgrade if I chose to upgrade not because I am forced to upgrade, with nagging windows and alarms constantly reminding me to upgrade. All I want is a platform where can get on and do some work. I get TABs from Mac Users that I can't open in 2.78 The audible nagging Alarm forces folk to upgrade even if they choose not to. Yes on a PC I can use Ver 2.78 but Mac users can't. You didn't give a reasoned response Matthieu you were dismissive of the points I raised. McWilliam Guitar Tab: YouTube Channel: ShutterStock Photos: rECOrd - (Cheshire's LRC): I feel your final comment below was unnecessary and aggressive. Sorry but I don't see the problem and feel Matthieu's changes are for the good of the software and its users. Those who are developing their own tabs, once registered as a user of TablEdit, can download the new version (and even older versions) for free from teh registered users website. As the free TefView software can read both old and new tabs I don't see the redevelopment of a more usable file format as being a deleterious one for students using my tabs. Personally, I have not found any insurmountable issues with the new version 3. Users of software are often focused down onto aspects of teh software which they have found works for them whereas a developer has to attempt to make any new developments fit the majority of users rather than just single clients. I know how long and tedious software development can be, especially in the testing and sorting out phases of new changes and developments. I was, for 25 years (1972-1995) a software engineer myself firstly on mainframes and later on Windows boxes. I'm afraid I don't recognise any of the issues Archie 'flags' with the new version 3 of the TablEdit software despite having been 'testing' this version since its first release to registered members. Ver 2.78 worked fine although you did make changes in that version that disabled a few features I used a lot I wasn't happy about those changes either but didn't complain. I need a platform that's stable, one I can rely on to get the job done. The audible alarm each time a new update is released really makes me so angry because I have to stop what I am doing to install the latest update just so I can get some piece and quiet whist switching between tef files. I know of other users who are equally unhappy about the changes especially in Ver 3. I use tefManager to keep track of my TEF library any files created with Ver 3 flags up a Bad TEF File I really like TablEdit and have encouraged many people to purchase the full version over the years but I am really angry that every time I sit down to do any work I have to pause and fix an error before I can move forward. Ruler & Fretboard have to be constantly re-positioned this is a real pain whilst working on multiple TABs 4. Instead of showing an open string it displays a period followed by a 2 i.e.2 It also shifts the value of all the other fret positions. ![]() ![]() ![]() Importing Gtr Pro TAB in D tuning, The values on the 5th string are offset due to the 5th string Capo. This has never been a feature of the software before and I am getting flack from users of my TABs 2. Files saved in Ver 3 won't open in earlier versions.
